National Association of Anorexia and Eating Disorders

ANAD provides information, answers, support, guidance, and treatment resources for those suffering from eating disorders, and their families and friends. Eating Disorders is a web resource that provides information and support to people fighting addiction and related mental health illnesses.
Individuals with eating disorders are up to five times more likely to abuse alcohol or other illicit drugs than those without eating disorders. The connection between eating disorders and drug abuse starts with the drugs themselves. The drugs contribute positive feelings that may substitute for food; weight loss is also a side effect of drug use.
